G'day readers,
Tomorrow is the day New South Wales opens up a bit more for those who are double vaccinated.
Like many people, I am a tad nervous about it because I am not sure everyone will be as cautious as we all should be. I hope people still obey all the rules set out and we don't see a massive spike in cases, but we can't stay locked up forever, so let's accentuate the positive.
My friends and family in Queensland and Western Australia have been walking around COVID free or close to it for months and I admit I am looking forward to doing the same in Sydney. So what do you think about opening up? Are you excited, nervous, a bit of both? Let me know.
We will be doing a series of 'welcome back' type yarns with businesses and people over the coming weeks. We will give you an insight into how others are viewing the opening up of Sydney.
In St George area news Jim Gainsford tells us a recent spate of tree poisoning across the Bayside local government area has councillors pretty annoyed. However, one has a solution many of us could get behind.
I report on figures released by the Office of Local Government that show the Georges River Council had the most expensive code of conduct bill of NSW councils in the 2019/20 financial year. I think the amount of money spent is outrageous, what do you think?
I love a good giveaway for our readers.
Australian Community Media has 10 double passes to give away to the space exhibition, so if you'd like to go fill in the form in the yarn.
I know two people who say they are going to the exhibition in full Captain Kirk and Spock costumes. Unfortunately, I am not sure they will follow through, but I'll keep you posted.
On that note, I'll go and enjoy my bacon and eggs and coffee before tackling the lawn mowing task I've been putting off for the last couple of weeks.
I hope whatever is on your agenda today that you enjoy yourself. Have a great day full of love, laughter, music and news.
See you next Sunday.
