Update
Forecast bad weather has led to the implementation of Plan B for tonight's (Friday) carols and turning on the lights planned for Cronulla mall.
Thunderstorms and rain are predicted from 5pm.
Cronulla Chamber of Commerce president Mark Aprilovic said the carols would be held in Cronulla RSL memorial Club from 5.30pm to 8pm.
"The council will have an electrician in the mall to turn on the lights about 7.45pm and the vision will be live streamed to a big screen in the RSL club."
Mr Aprilovic quipped: "It just keeps getting better".

Multiple Golden Guitar winner Luke O'Shea will be among the performers at the carols and "turning on the lights" ceremony in Cronulla mall on Friday evening, December 3
The concert will start at 5.30pm and continue until 7.30pm when 20,000 fairy lights draped around 14 trees in the mall will be illuminated.
Everyone is welcome, and people are encouraged to bring chairs and take in the entire event, which will be held in the heart of the mall outside the post office.
Should there be a washout, the event will move to the Cronulla RSL Memorial Club.
The event is being organised in partnership between Sutherland Shire Council, Cronulla Chamber of Commerce and the Christian churches of Cronulla.
Chamber of Commerce president Mark Aprilovic said, after two years of lockdown, it was an opportunity for people to celebrate Christmas not just with their families, but as a community.
"Some great shire talent, including individuals and choirs, will be performing. We are anticipating a big roll-up.
"Local businesses are embracing the Christmas season and dressing their windows. The best dressed windows will receive a $300 voucher from Cronulla RSL or a $300 voucher from Brass Monkey.
"One will be a people's choice and the other voted by the mayor and other dignitaries on the evening.
"QR codes are on display in windows, so people can vote for their favorite business Christmas display.
"Voting for people's choice started on November 26 and the winner will be announced on the night."
