Riverwood's Isobella Lytsioulis is an inspiration to her mother Jodie, who believes that her young daughter could also inspire girls across the community, to be confident in everything they do.
Isobella is nine-years-old and plays Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) football for St George City Football Club.
She is the only girl in her team and only one of two girls in the entire club.
Isobella began playing football when she was four-years-old and by the time she reached six-years-old she was selected for an Under Eights Development Squad.
"She likes [football]," said Jodie. "Isobella's only ever played with boys and is very competitive, so I think she likes to push herself to play with them.
"She's always played above her age and has been offered to play in a girls team, but chooses to still play with the boys.
"When Isobella was selected for the developmental squad it was great because she was up against over 100 boys."
Isobella is also an avid swimmer and holds a red belt in Taekwondo. She is now playing futsal for a mixed team and a girls team.
For the past few years she has participated in the Push Up Challenge and has raised money for different charities, including over $800 for headspace Hurstville.
Jodie said that Isobella started doing the Push Up Challenge for her.
"She is my inspiration," she said. "I love the confidence that she has to play and to be pushed.
"I think Isobella likes to be challenged and to compete against the best she can."
Jodie believes that Isobella's sporting achievements and confidence in everything that she does deserves for her to be nominated as a local champion.
"I don't feel enough girls get recognition when they have to compete with all boys," she said.
"She would be an excellent local community champion for all girls, to show more girls to have confidence in themselves."
