SO, we've come full circle - from our very first cover featuring one of our local heroes, Layne Beachley - which was splashed all over Beaches' bus stops - to our final story, where the former surfer turned motivator is our number one most influential local, top of a very impressive bunch. Read who else made the cut.
Interesting storytelling
FINDING talent for our in-depth cover profiles wasn't difficult: the northern beaches is stacked with engaging overachievers.
But it was a special day when Beaches-born and bred Nadine Morton got to interview two of her idols, Kirk Pengilly and Tim Farriss from INXS.
The reporter extraordinaire later won an award for the story.
Inspiring photography
A GOOD photo can make the soul sing and it has been a thrill to work with a bunch of extremely talented photographers on the Review - Simon Bennett, Geoff Jones and then Dallas Kilponen.
The latter donned his wetsuit and camera casing for this wonderful shot of a beautiful couple - and won a well-deserved, prestigious news photography award.
