Almost $55,000 was raised for Sutherland Hospital, thanks to a luncheon hosted by Dame Marie Simone in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
She presented the cheque at the hospital's 65th birthday morning tea. The money will be used to expand the hospital's cancer care services.
The event was supported by many local businesses.
