Spectacular photographs are on the cards when the annual king tide is expected to peak in Botany Bay at 9.37am on Thursday, January 2.
Coastal communities on Australia’s eastern coast have been asked to photograph and share their images as part of the Witness King Tides project, hosted by Green Cross Australia.
‘‘The project will help us to identify and understand the impacts of rising sea levels on our beaches, coastal areas and shoreline communities,” said Green Cross Australia CEO Mara Bún.
She said aid participants could take images of the king tide the day before or after it, as the effects are similar and will still help the project raise awareness of sea levels rising.
