State grant improves courts
NETBALL: Sutherland Shire Netball Association have received $60,000 for court restoration at the Bellingarra Netball complex, Miranda. The funding was made under the state government’s 2014 Community Building Partnership grants. Four courts will be resurfaced and the association will pay an extra $60,000 towards the project; Sutherland Council will contribute the balance.

PHYSICAL CULTURE: Registrations will be taken on Monday, February 2, for the Sylvania Heights Physical Culture Club, 6pm at Sylvania Youth Club, Box Road, Sylvania Heights. The club is part of the Bjelke-Petersen School of Physical Culture. Classes resume for juniors and seniors on February 9.

Senior coaches help young
AFL SYDNEY: Top young talent attended the annual Sydney South AFL talent camp at Waratah Park, Sutherland, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Boys and girls aged 12 to 15 attended the two days and were taught skills and put their paces by senior coaches.
