A YEAR into his real estate career, Jack Aumuller is already proving to be ahead of the game, named Rookie of the Year at the One Agency Awards Night. One Agency Orange also came away with the marketing award. Mr Aumuller said his award was calculated using sales figures - he started as an assistant but gradually secured his own listings. "My first sale was 78 William Maker Drive, that was great getting the first one away," he said. "I cracked the million-dollar sale at Millthorpe, which was pretty cool." He said the award had spurred him on to strive for another successful 12 months. ONE of Orange's financial planners is in the running for this year's Young Achiever Awards, with Rose Hodgins nominated in the small business category. The award recognises those who make their opportunities reality. Ms Hodgins started as a trainee at Protect What Matters Advice in September 2015 - she stepped up to manage the office before training as a financial planner. She is currently completing a Master of Financial Planning and has organised lunches for women to improve their financial literacy. "I didn't really choose it - I was working casually in retail and looking for a fulltime job," she said. "I just connected with it - it's knowing you are putting someone in a better position and especially with money, they're very grateful for it." The winners will be announced in December and go into the running for the 2020 NSW/ACT Young Achiever of the Year. LJ Hooker Orange is no more, with the team rebranding to Professionals Orange. Managing director Pat Cutcliffe said the move became official on November 1 and while change was inevitable for any business, his team of nine wanted to remain innovative and creative. "The name is a good way to reflect the way we run our business," he said. "There's a great support network within the organisation - the culture, I suppose, is like a big family." Mr Cutcliffe's involvement in the business traces back to 1991 when it was known as Town and Country Real Estate.
