The restaurant offers waterfront views although it often happens that diners find themselves looking at the view from the kitchen — food created by award winning chef, Kyle Quy, who was the 2007 Lexus Young Chef winner for NSW-ACT.
This is a venue that consistently attracts diners not just from St George and the shire but also from further afield.
The restaurant also has special menus for special occasions — such as Mother's Day which this year is on Sunday, May 12.
The special Mother's Day menu begins with a seafood platter of cured ocean trout carpaccio, house-smoked salmon rillette, Sydney rock oyster a la mignonette, devil calamari and harissa prawn followed by a "surf and turf". The third course is Sichuan striploin which ends with a pre-dessert orange compote and lemon sorbet.
Dessert includes frozen fruit salad, a layered iced dessert of blood orange sorbet, coconut macaron ice-cream, and passionfruit sorbet with a seasonal fruit salad.
Service is at noon, 2pm and 6pm.
The price is $70 and a children's menu is $25.
Zippo's is also available for exclusive groups and additionally has two function rooms.
