Some of the best policemen and women from St George and Sutherland Shire were recognised at the central metropolitan police medals and awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The presentation, at Club Cronulla, honoured officers for their long service, bravery and commitment.
Among the guests and top cops was NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Mark Murdoch and politicians, Cronulla MP Mark Speakman and parliamentary secretary for police and emergency services, Geoff Provest.
Assistant Commissioner Murdoch said he wanted to thank the men and women in blue for their ‘‘outstanding service and massive, massive displays of courage’’.
‘‘The sort of stuff these people do you don’t get paid for,’’ he said.
‘‘I am exceptionally proud of this organisation.’’
He also thanked the family and friends of those serving in the NSW Police Force for their support.
