A YOWIE Bay teenager has been named this year's winner of the Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search competition.
Olivia Ludington, 15, was among 12 national finalists selected from 3800 applicants.
The Port Hacking High School student said she entered the competition without any expectations.
"I've never modelled before but my family encouraged me to sign up so I was surprised to even get through to the state finals," she said.
"Modelling is a career I never seriously considered until now because I never thought something like this would happen to me."
Her win was announced last week.
Olivia received a two-year contract with Chic Model Management, a meeting with Next Model Management agency in New York, a year's supply of Rimmel London make-up and a trip to Sydney to feature in two Girlfriend fashion shoots, which will be published in the October issue on sale this week.
Olivia will focus on completing her HSC before pursuing a modelling career.
"My aim is to finish school and just to take everything as it comes," she said.
Girlfriend magazine editor Sarah Tarca said Olivia possessed the qualities that typified the campaign: confidence, self-assurance, enthusiasm and individuality.
"Olivia has the personality and unique look to make a very special mark on the modelling world," she said.
