The state government said the purpose-built station was ‘‘a first’’ for NSW.
Paramedics and NSW Fire & Rescue retained firefighters will have separate quarters and will share facilities such as the kitchen and training room.
Health Minister Jillian Skinner, parliamentary secretary for Police and Emergency Services, Geoff Provest, and Heathcote MP Lee Evans cut the ribbon to open the station in Bundeena Drive.
A spokeswoman for the Royal National Park Community Services Group, Dr Tamsin Clarke, said that although they still had concerns over paramedic staffing, Mrs Skinner ‘‘seemed keen to sort this out’’.
