This is the time of the year when you are getting ready to play and it’s been a long, tough and grinding preseason for the players.
We are now ready to play Wests Tigers in round one. I am very pleased with the way the players have carried themselves and conducted themselves in pre-season training.
The coaching staff have also worked hard getting ready.
The players have all been working hard in the gym, a lot of the players are stronger and bigger.
There is a lot of competition for positions in the team with the new faces we have at the Dragons.
There is also competition in the halves and for positions in the forwards.
It’s a bit of a headache to have with so many options, but a it’s a good headache to have.
Another thing that has impressed me in the off-season is the skill component of the players and what they have to been doing to get ready for the new season.
I have also been happy with how the new faces have settled in.
The off-season training is the fun bit and now we get down to playing and we are excited about playing our first game against Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium this Sunday at 3pm.
It’s a Dragons home game and it will be great to run out in front of the Red V members.
It will be great to see so many fans there for the opening game.
Our supporters are very passionate. I know from my point of view, and that of the players, we certainly appreciate their support.
