ACTRESS Frances Attard of Peakhurst has a starring role in the Australian premiere of the stage play Possessions.
It's based on the scandalous true lives of the Mancini sisters, who lived in the 17th century and became notorious for abandoning their husbands, dressing as men and travelling unchaperoned throughout Europe.
Recreated from the sisters' memoirs, Possessions also stars Jane Bergeron, head of the theatre studies program at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney, and Carrie Ann Quinn, head of the acting and directing program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
Possessions at King Street Theatre, Newtown, will continue until Saturday, April 5; performances at 7.30pm.
The performance today, April 3, will include an expert panel and audience talkback.
Tickets $25, $15 at kingstreettheatre.com.au; more details: escapeartiststheatreco.com
