STAFF at Narwee Pharmacy have thanked their customers for their loyalty after an accident forced the pharmacy to relocate for almost five months.
An explosion in the shop next door last November caused extensive damage, meaning the pharmacy had to decamp to another chemist shop in the same suburb.
Partner Joe Keledjian, who grew up in Narwee and as an infant was weighed on the baby scales in the store, said the new and improved store opening coincided with the store's 50th anniversary.
The pharmacy was opened by Fred Lloyd in 1964. Staff have been thrilled with the rejuvenated store.
"It was an opportunity to freshen up and brighten the store, and we changed the lighting, doors and flooring," Mr Keledjian said.
The store suffered extensive smoke damage after the explosion and all stock and computers had to be thrown away.
Now, staff are celebrating the reopening by giving loyal customers flowers and chocolates, he said.
"Most people are very happy that we're back.'
"Lots of our customers are friends now and we are grateful that they've stuck with us through this difficult and frustrating time."
