Ms Stuart is education and training officer for the Rail, Tram and Bus Union.
Lee Evans, with a margin of 19 per cent, holds Heathcote for the Liberal Party.
Ms Stuart has lived in Sutherland Shire for 44 years and she and husband Russell have two children.
She said life had become harder for shire residents under a Coalition government.
‘‘They’ve slashed hospital funding, shut our fire stations and turned a blind eye to overdevelopment in the shire,’’ she said.
Do you think Maryanne Stuart would be a good MP for Heathcote?
