I find it abhorrent the Leader would give a back-page spread (April 8) to promoting the Red Bull Cape Fear competition. Let's get a few facts straight: Cape Fear was discovered, and named, by bodyboarders more than 30 years ago.

This event is majority-backed by the Bra Boys from Maroubra whose intimidation, assaults and threats over the years, after waltzing in on surf skis and "claiming it" as theirs, are well known and, of which, I have had first-hand knowledge.
This competition has been accompanied by a trailer, viewed by millions, blatantly and unashamedly dissing all bodyboarders.
So, your total disregard of the facts, and local surfers, shows disrespect to all bodyboarders.
