Re the closure of Francis Drake Bowling Club. This in itself is nothing new: too many surrounding clubs have had the same fate, although not in this manner.

But the land in question, small as it may seem, will be picked up for a song by some smart developer who will be the main profiteer.
The Ramsgate RSL won't gain that much. A smart developer will be offering people in surrounding houses a good price for their homes.
This site will go to Land and Environment Court on appeal it will be rezoned (bet your bottom dollar).
Barton Street in its own right is the gateway to north, south and west. What an outlet for the traffic you will endure. Now that has been solved, let's worry about the construction, depending on how deep they want to go down or how high.
Over coming months or a year or two, that should in its own right again be interesting.
It does not worry me, but many of you people should voice your opinions to the bodies concerned. Just don't bury your heads.

During the recent pennants competitions at Francis Drake, Ramsgate RSL locked one toilet and allowed only cold water to be served but employed a staff member.
On another Saturday, Ramsgate RSL turned off all lighting, removed the water bubbler and allowed only tap water to be obtained — again during pennants competition, but once again employed a staff member!
What's next?
That's right, locked gates to prohibit access.
What a disgrace!
One can only imagine the regard in which visiting teams, home pennant teams, bowlers and the public in general hold Ramsgate RSL.
