Tucked away opposite Gunnamatta Park in the old corner shop, Mint specialises in organic fare, fresh juices and coffee worth seeking out.
Owner Kylie Daly established the eatery after becoming ill and studying nutrition in an attempt to regain her health.
Unable to find cafes serving the type of food she was after, she decided to set up shop.
‘‘I want to make healthy choices when I can,’’ Ms Daly said.
Offerings include soup of the day, panini, organic salads and brown rice sushi, as well as paleo muffins.
Baristas serve up a house blend from Coffee Roasters and there is a different ‘‘coffee of the week’’, usually of single origin.
Lots of the cafe’s raw ingredients are not certified but are organic; certification is expensive and takes time.
The cafe makes its own nut milks for use in smoothies.
She has planted a herb garden outside the cafe and passers-by are encouraged to pick what they need.
