PINO and Pia Tomini Foresti have known for 37 years what it takes to provide outstanding smallgoods and Italian produce.
The family-owned business — Pino's Dolce Vita Fine Foods at Kogarah — has been recognised in the recent delicious Produce Awards by winning the outstanding food store category.
The award winners published in the ABC delicious magazine (July) highlight independent producers nominated by readers.
It's easy to see how Pino's Dolce Vita Fine Foods made the cut.
"My husband Pino is a qualified Italian butcher and third-generation artisan smallgoods maker," said Pia.
"Recently, our shop has expanded to include a cooking school."
The store has been run by the Foresti family for 37 years.
Their four children work in the business which includes a butcher, deli and cafe.
The business specialises in Italian imported products including pasta and Sicilian olive oil.
They also sell their home-made passata sauce that people love for its authentic Italian flavour.
