St George Illawarra Dragons will wear Iron Man jerseys in their Saturday night clash with the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
The jerseys are part of the ISC Marvel Super Heroes collection.
The Dragons will auction complete player-worn kits — jersey, shorts and socks — from the game.
They will be signed by individual players and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Captain Ben Creagh said the players were primed for a huge effort against the defending premiers.
‘‘The Roosters are coming off a loss against Newcastle and they will be ready to play this Saturday,’’ Creagh said.
‘‘They have a big pack and plenty of speed out wide.’’
Creagh said the forward pack’s resolve over the past two months had been important in making their late-season charge.
Coach Paul McGregor has stressed the importance of the forwards doing the hard work to allow their strike-backs such as Josh Dugan, Brett Morris, Jason Nightingale and Adam Quinlan to attack.
‘‘We are working hard in the forward,’’ Creagh said.
The skipper, who has been switched to prop in the past eight weeks, is relishing the role.
Creagh’s mobility and arrow-straight running has ignited the forward-pack attack in recent weeks.
The Dragons are 10th on 22 points and need to keep winning in a tight competition to make the top eight, with six games left before the finals.
Kick-off is 7.30pm this Saturday against the Roosters.
