TALENTED teenagers took their wheels to the track for the popular F1 in Schools Challenge recently.
Engadine Community Centre was transformed into a racing venue for the annual event last Tuesday.
Sutherland Shire students have been strong competitors since the competition was established 11 years ago.
It was designed to develop students' creativity through a structured design project, in which students build model formula one racing cars.
It also aims to encourage more young people to develop an interest in engineering.
Cronulla, Engadine, Sylvania and Caringbah high schools competed in the regional final.
The winners will compete in the NSW finals at the University of Western Sydney in November.
