Re the article "Units without car spaces 'policy on run' " (Leader, October 2).
With a building regulation and certification plan such as the overhead unit encroachment visible at Belgrave Street, Kogarah everybody has good reason to question "SEPP No. 65 — Design Quality of Residential Flat Developments", and what public officials deem to be appropriate standards or rules, interpretations, and responsible actions.
This is a duplicitous example of the official two-rule policy: one for you and another for us.
When the entire official public process is hijacked to achieve this non-compliant or intimidatory outcome, nobody can trust official credentials, promises or regulations.
Those who ensured this abuse of privilege have taken the public and planning policy and process for granted, which speaks of the non-existence of a regulatory process.
