I see a number of letters published where members of the community have expressed concerns about overdevelopment in the shire.

That this is an issue should be no surprise as the election of conservatives at local, state and federal level could only herald an era of development at any cost.
While there will be development in any community, the impact of development with little planning and no significant increase in infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, schools etc will be appalling.
Sadly this seems to be a trend in many areas of NSW. We may follow the path of many overseas areas where unplanned and unsustainable development results in cities clogged with traffic, pollution and plagued with social problems.
Development can proceed and be a positive outcome for communities provided it is planned, structured, transparent and supported by the community.
