THE $14.5 million redevelopment of Kareela Village is on schedule for completion later this year.
When the work is completed the new-look shopping centre will feature cafes, restaurants, fresh food retailers and services to complement Coles.
Three Beans Espresso has already opened, and Helen Louise Salon, which has been in the centre for more than 25 years, has relocated as part of stage one.
The centre's car park is complete with 280 spaces, almost doubling the spaces of the old centre.
Rook Salinger managing director Adam Sheumack gave retail property advice on the village.
"This centre will become the most convenient centre in Sutherland Shire with an interesting mix of retailers," he said.
Centre owners Dan Properties are long-term investors in the village with an aim to create a convenient and unique shopping experience for residents.
The centre will also contain an expanded Kareela Fruit Market run by Paul Moraitis, a baker, Kareela Pharmacy, Flight Centre, and a fitness centre.
