TWO St George and Sutherland Shire residents from have won roles in a new production of Grease.
Steven McLeod, of Barden Ridge — who plays Kenickie, best friend to gang member Danny, and Alexandra Camillos, of Beverly Hills — who plays Cha Cha, the girlfriend of rival Scorpions gang member Leo, will appear in the much-loved 1950 musical.
Although this is McLeod's first show with Bankstown Theatre Company, he has been performing since the age of 11 and has been involved in many school and dance school productions and musical theatre performances.
Now a primary school teacher, he majored in performance at Wollongong University, has had classical singing lessons and was part of the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music choir for three years.
He has performed with Shire Music Theatre, Rockdale Musical Society, Canterbury Theatre Guild and Regal Musical Society.
Also making her debut with the Bankstown group is Camillos, who began vocal training five years ago and has performed in numerous musicals.
