About 1800 people attended the 24th Annual Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair presented by the Como-Jannali Rotary Club at Sutherland Entertainment Centre last weekend.
"It was one of the best crowds we have had in recent years," event organiser Stephen Lovison said.
"By 11am we had a queue out the door, which never happens.
"A lot of people came to see the display of heritage police cars, especially the paddy wagon."
In fact, the paddy wagon brought back a familiar memory for one attendee, according to the organisers.
Inside, smaller collectables and jewellery were popular purchases this year, with more than 170 people having items valued.
One family had an interesting collection of WWI memorabilia and were told some of it could be quite valuable.
More than $10,000 is expected to be raised when the final count comes in, with the proceeds going towards local schools Bates Drive and Minerva, PolioPlus, Youth leadership programs and Rotary International programs including Vanuatu.
