Appointments difficult
Like previous writers to these pages in the Leader I add my concern and disappointment at the administration of the Roads and Maritime Services which under the law requires older drivers to undertake biennial driving tests.
However, it is near impossible for them to provide the necessary appointment for such tests within the restricted time before the licence is cancelled.
After trying three times for an appointment at Miranda, Rockdale, Bankstown and Hurstville I was lucky enough to get a cancellation at Liverpool.
This situation is scandalous and needs urgent attention.
Is this deliberate discrimination against the elderly? It is time NRMA, the senior citizens' organisations or Greypower made their voices heard.
