Noisy function
I wish to make a complaint regarding the Up Ball function that was held on Sunday, March 22, at Hurstville Golf Course.
The public announcements were excessively loud and frequent and could be heard blocks away from the golf course. I even sought refuge from the noise by going down to the bottom of Gannons Park but the announcements still reverberated about the park .
The announcer made the statement, and I quote "The after party will be at Oatley pub where you can have one beer or 12".
It seems Up Ball is about excessive drinking?
It's good to see people carrying out sporting activities but this should not be at the expense of residents for blocks around trying to have a peaceful Sunday afternoon.
As the facility is run by Hurstville Council I would ask that the council inform people who will be using the facilities of their obligations regarding noise and the community. I would also ask the council to monitor any future functions held there to ensure that they do not create excessive noise.
Could the council also provide an out-of-hours phone number and have it posted at the golf course so that residents may report any future noisy functions as this is not the only time that this has happened.
