WHEN budding young stars from ACTiv Elite Performers start singing the opening song, Everything's coming up Roses at the Red Rose Ball this month, sisters Charisse and Rochelle Graber may be shedding tears of joy as the event, the fourth annual Red Rose Ball, gets under way.
The ball honours their mother Sandra, who died in 2008.
"My entire world fell apart when mum lost her battle with cancer," Charisse said.
"We began the Red Rose Ball as an annual event to honour her, and, so far, they have raised over $20,000 for the NSW Cancer Council."
Charisse, the principal of the San Souci-based talent school, ACTiv Elite Performers, said Everything's coming up Roses was her mother's favourite song.
"We are very excited to have the beautiful voices of Stacey Wilson, Virginia Natoli, Julian Batchelor, Jacob Nicholls, Alex Grogan and Ryan Connell, all local performers," she said.
"And we are all hoping Blake Hales, who is 14, will have finished his chemotherapy and be singing with us as well."
