Ten volunteers from Engadine Anglican Church headed north after ministry leader at the Ashford church, Warren Richards, put out a call.
Gathering their paint, brushes and drop sheets, the group sanded back the old paint under the direction of volunteer Paul Drayton, a professional painter with P&R Brushworks.
In three days the 91-year-old church had a new and much-improved exterior.
