Economic reality
The photo of the mothers with their children and the accompanying article demonstrated that the "age of entitlement" is only being cemented as the media tell endless stories of "who gets what" from the budget.
Hardly a mention of the rising debt and the cost of this debt to everyone.
The federal budget was disappointing as it was still a giveaway budget albeit not as grandiose as Labor would have bought down.
It's understood the government had little alternative given the Labor/Greens controlled Senate has consistently blocked spending cuts.
However, it is still a budget driving the whole country further into debt.
Let's get real about this: the government is borrowing money to pay for all the benefits such as childcare rebates.
Even worse, the government is borrowing more money just to pay the interest on debt which is around $1 billion a month or $30 million each day!
And that debt is growing with all the benefits handed out.
