With St George Illawarra and Cronulla resting this weekend ahead of their NRL derby clash on May 31, international football will take over Kogarah Oval on Sunday.
While Australia missed out on qualification for the under 20s World Cup in New Zealand next month, the Young Socceroos will still be in action with two high-class friendlies.
Kogarah Oval will host Australia’s clash with Mexico as part of a double header that will also include Portugal against Brazil.
The Young Socceroos will then take on Brazil at WIN Stadium next week.
Australia’s squad includes a number of locally produced players.
Former Sutherland goalkeeper Tom Glover and Rockdale shot stopper Jordan Holmes are both in the squad, as are Sydney FC’s Shire footballers Alex Gersbach and Chris Naumoff.
Tickets are available through Ticketek and Ticketmaster websites.
The Brazil under 20s open training scheduled for 3pm at Remondis Stadium on Friday afternoon has been cancelled due to the wet weather.
Schedule:
- May 24 Portugal u20s v Brazil u20s at Kogarah Oval. 3pm.
- May 24 Mexico u20s v Australia u20s at Kogarah Oval. 5.30pm.
