Add another person to the combination — Abraham — and boy band parody Altar Boyz is set to go.
The "boyz" become part of a fictitious boy band from Ohio and the show starts with the group's last night of their Raise The Praise tour.
For Sasha Simic, 18, of Penshurst, the role of ladies' man Juan has meant he has had to learn to speak with a Spanish accent.
"I've had to learn the mechanics of pronunciation," Simic said.
"I normally sing in bass but the role needs me to sing as a baritone/tenor."
The comic storyline has Juan in search of his long-lost parents.
A graduate in performing arts from Oatley Senior Campus, Simic is aiming to become a professional performer.
In the role of Mark, the sensitive boy with a secret and a deep faith in Cher, veteran performer Tim Wotherspoon of Rockdale has been learning to act as part of the boy band at 38.
"There's a lot singing, dancing and high energy performance," Wotherspoon said.
Other shire boys in the show are James Jonathon of Sylvania as bad boy Luke, who has a big heart and an interest in communion wine, and Gus Noakes of Como as Abraham, the Jewish boy who isn't entirely sure how he got there — but he is the lyricist.
Gareth Davis plays Matthew as the lead singer who started the group.
Altar Boyz by Miranda Musical Society is at 8pm on June 12, 13, 17, 19, 20 with 2pm shows on June 14 and 21 at Memorial School of Arts, East Parade, Sutherland.
