Brandlesome, listed with Ray White Glenmore Park, will be auctioned on site at 580 Forest Road, Bexley.
Owned by the Formby family for four generations, the house sits on a 2000-square-metre block.
The Federation-style house has high ornate ceilings, four original fireplaces, pressed metal ceilings, leadlight windows, a main entrance and slate roof.
Families and investors are expected to bid strongly at auction.
St George Historical Society president Bernie Sharah said the area had many heritage homes and properties.
"The property has been in the Formby family for four generations and is basically unchanged since it was built," Mr Sharah said."It is a remarkably intact example of the Edwardian Style.
"It is unusual in that it is transversely situated in the middle of a very large block of land. Its dominant feature is the central portico, which forms the main entrance. This property, as with many in Bexley in the early 1900s, was home to people who, while not 'rich', were fairly well off."
Houses such as this one are excellent examples of the affluent period of Bexley's history, he said.
