CRONULLA Little League Baseball under-13 boys team are off to the big ball competition in August in the US.
They played in the Australian Little League titles on June 4-9 at Lismore and defeated Swan Hills 7-3 in the final.
Cronulla now represent Australia at the Little League World Series to be played in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on August 20-30.
"This is extremely exciting for the players and families as the team play baseball in Sutherland Shire and St George," said team executive officer Mark Burns.
"It was a great team effort and a lot of hard work from the boys and the coaches and officials.
"We're very excited to be headed to the US."
The team is coached by Darren Fullerton. Burns said Fullerton and the players deserved high praise.
This was the the second successive year that Cronulla Little League team had qualified for the Australian titles; they were fourth in 2014.
Cronulla had won the NSW Little League Championships at Blue Sox Stadium in Blacktown International Sportspark at Rooty Hill to reach the nationals.
