My 13-year-old family cat Kaytu went missing in February this year. We basically had lost any hope of finding him. To be honest we thought the worst after a few months passed.
I had a phone call in the second week of July from a resident in a nearby Engadine street, saying he had found my cat’s collar in his backyard and thought he had seen a cat hanging around his car.
Dad and I decided to drop some letters around the street where Kaytu may have been seen.
The first woman we approached to hand a letter to said she was sure the lady two doors down had been feeding him.
So off we went to knock on the door. Val and Jim greeted us and said they had seen our cat and invited us in. As we were talking, Kaytu came waltzing up to their verandah. We were all in shock. Our cat had made it back to us after four months.
A big thank you to all of the people who helped Kaytu return home. We are grateful forever. I hope this story gives some hope to others who have a missing pet. There are good people out there.
