THE interestingly named Dead Singer Band honours some of the luminaries of the entertainment world.
The band is making its debut Friday night.
Some of the music during the two-hour show will include works from singers with whom band members have worked and played.
There will also be fresh footage of performances and renditions of favourite rock and pop songs of the past 40 years.
The show was put together after the death of Masters Apprentices lead singer Jim Keays as a way of honouring him and to celebrate the lives of many of the band's close friends and colleagues.
They also play classic hits from Johnny O'Keefe to Chrissy Amphlett.
Three band members — Roger Faynes, Denny and Colin Burgess — are former Masters Apprentices members.
Bands they have played in include the Stevie Wright Band, AC/DC, The Throb, Ray Brown and the Whispers.
Vanessa Lea is the lead vocalist in Dead Singers.
Dead Singer Band will be at the Brass Monkey, Cronulla, tomorrow; doors open 8pm. Shire entertainers Steve Flack and Jill Player Cotton open the entertainment.
