Emily and Tayla Schneider have qualified for the School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships which start on Saturday at Mooney Valley Racecourse in Victoria.
Emily and Tayla, from Bundeena, will both take on a four-kilometre course in their under-16s and under-14s divisions respectively.
It has been a busy time for Emily, 13, who was the fifth runner across the line in the women's division of last month's Sutherland 2 Surf.
The year 8 student at Cronulla High School will also take on the relay event on Monday.
Emily won the NSW public schools cross-country in July at Eastern Creek and finished second overall in the combined high schools race.
Tayla, 12, qualified through an Athletics NSW event earlier this month.
The Bundeena Public School pupil said she followed a familiar route into the sport.
"I started running because Emily started running," she said.
Emily began training under John Bowers, at Kirrawee, four years ago, with Tayla joining her a year later.
The pair are also with the Sutherland District Athletics Club in winter and compete in Sutherland Little Athletics in summer.
