SUTHERLAND Shire residents are being asked to comment on proposed changes to their ward boundaries.
The council is required by the Local Government Act to review its ward boundaries to ensure there is an even distribution of electors across the wards. It is asking the community for feedback on the proposed changes through its online engagement tool Join the Conversation.
"We're inviting the residents of the shire to let us know what they think about the new boundaries," Sutherland Shire mayor Carmelo Pesce said. "If you haven't registered for Join the Conversation, you will need to do so first.
"You can register by accessing the Register tab at sutherlandshire.jointheconversation.nsw.gov.au.
"You can also view the proposed ward boundaries map at council's customer service centre 4-20 Eton Street, Sutherland, and at Sutherland Library.
"I encourage everyone to submit feedback via Join the Conversation, but if you'd prefer to submit your comments in writing, you can do so by writing a letter to Sutherland Shire Council general manager Scott Phillips, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland NSW 1499."
The proposal will be on public exhibition until Friday, November 6. After that, feedback will be collated and presented to the council for consideration.
