Cronulla have named their junior representative squads for the new season with the under-16s (Harold Matthews Cup) and under-18s (SG Ball Cup) competitions to start this weekend.
The Sharks travel to Kirkham Oval, Camden for their Harold Matthews clash against South West Sydney Academy of Sport, while Cronulla’s SG Ball squad will play the Perth Pirates in Western Australia.
Glenn Brailey (Matthews Cup) and Dave Howlett (SG Ball) have returned to coach their respective teams.
Cronulla won the Harold Matthews and SG Ball trophies in May last year, becoming the first club to do so in the history of the competitions.
The Matthews Cup team downed Parramatta (30-16) and South Sydney (24-16) to take out their respective titles.
The teams then met the Townsville Stingers in both grades at Belmore Sports Ground, winning 26-20 and 18-16 to be crowned national champions.
