The opening of a $13.5 million trampoline park at Miranda has been pushed back to the start of the school holidays.
Sky Zone, in the Westfield centre, was originally scheduled to open in March.
The opening date was revised to April 1, and the has now been moved to Friday April 8, when students begin holidays.
The two-storey centre, covering 3800 square metres in the area where the cinemas were previously located, is being promoted as “the largest trampoline park in the southern hemisphere”.
It is Sky Zone’s second centre in Sydney, the first being at Alexandria, and will feature more than than 100 interconnected trampolines.
Prices will start from $16 per person, with kids’ parties starting from $34 per person.
The new centre appeared a long way from completion when the Leader was invited to visit on Friday.
However, foreman Andrew Dunkley said work was occurring seven days a week, and they would meet the deadline.
Mr Dunkley, who helped set up Sky Zone centres in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, said “this will definitely be the best”.
The company said the venue combined Sky Zone's full range of trampolining activities.
They included:
- A six-trampoline performance area.
- Sky Climb, a “sky high climbing pursuit”.
- Enduro Ninja Warrior course, “the new, latest addition to Sky Zone where combined technology from Parkour, Rock Climbing, and Ropes Courses comes together to create the ultimate obstacle course”.
The centre will open Monday to Thursday, 10am–10pm, Friday, 10am–11pm, Saturday, 9am–11pm, Sunday 9am–9pm.
During school holidays, it will open every day from 9am.
Pricing: Access to Jumping and Enduro is $16 per person (excluding socks which are $2 each); Sky Climb is $18 per person; kids’ parties start from $34 per person.
SkyZone said the centre would provide “Australia’s most thrilling, most innovative park experience to date”.
“With more than 100 interconnected trampolines that let you literally bounce off the walls, Sky Zone has anti-gravity sorted for everyone,” a blurb read.
