The program for its Winter Concert, to be held at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre in June includes musical masterpieces acknowledging some of the great and exotic destinations of the world.

Conductors Beth Moloney and Michael Psaltis will lead the orchestra through some of the world’s great masterpieces.
Starting in Europe, sweeping through the middle east and through to Australia, the program encompasses Verdi's Grand March from AIDA, Ketelbey's In a Persian Market, Hardiman's The Lord of the Dance, Ravel's Bolero, Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and S Moloney's Progressive Overture, A Journey Through Time.
Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1970 and has about 40 members.
Over the past 46 years, it has developed to become one of Australia’s prestigious community orchestras and a major training orchestra for young musicians.
The orchestra brings the classical symphonic repertoire to the Sutherland community at affordable prices, performing a series of four concerts each year in Sutherland and regularly tours to other centres around NSW.
This is the second concernt of the orchestra’s 2016 season and will be followed by the spring concert on September 4 and the summer concert on December 11.
The SSSO’s Winter Concert will be held at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, 30 Eton Street, Sutherland, on Sunday, June 5 at 2.30pm.
Tickets are general $25, concession and student $20.
For children under 12 there will be one free ticket with every paying adult.
All ticket buyers will receive a complimentary A-Listers Membership as part of the Sutherland Entertainment Centre’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
