The foodcourt at Menai Marketplace was evacuated this morning following a gas explosion.
Initial reports were that a fire started in a kebab shop following an explosion around 9.30am.
About 50 people were evacuated as a precaution.
Ambulance officers were treating one man on the scene for injuries.
Three fire crews responded to put out the fire which was contained. A clean-up operation is continuing.

Police report that one man was treated on the scene for minor burns. He did not need to go to hospital and was being treated at the local medical centre.
Ambulance officers reported that they were called to the shopping centre just before 9.30am with reports a man had been injured following a possible gas explosion and resulting fire.
They were not required to treat the injured man who may have been assessed by a doctor who attended the scene.
There are reports that people have been allowed back inside the centre.
10.30am:
Police have confirmed the foodcourt has reopened. It was only evacuated for a short time while NSW Fire and Rescue went in to assess the damage.
All food outlets have reopened with the exception of the damaged shop.
Garys Seafood owner, Gary Nicholas said that it appeared a rotisserie caught fire in the kebab shop.
“It was very lucky no-one was hurt,’’ he said.
“We were evacuated for about half-an-hour to 40 minutes and then allowed back inside.”
A worker at Subway, near the kebab show said it appeared the injured man had burns to his face and hands and looked like he was in shock.
Workcover has been advised of the incident.
