Michael Hamlyn, 20, vanished almost two weeks ago.
His father, Peter; mother, Sharon; and brother, Melenio will on Saturday front the media to issue another heartfelt plea to Michael, who is most likely somewhere in Victoria.
The employee at Country Club Tasmania’s Bolters Grill was last seen on Monday, July 11, leaving his Launceston apartment on his black 2007 Suzuki motorcycle with registration A384U.
His housemate was the last person to see him.
On Friday, Peter said the family had exhausted every avenue to try and make contact with Michael – including reaching out his old school friends.
The police investigation has seen officers scour airport and Spirit of Tasmania records.
But there is nothing to suggest anyone with his name, or the name Miguel Williams – Michael’s second name – left the state by plane or boat.
In one of the only positives to come out of the last week, police successfully traced Michael’s mobile phone to Victoria.
Facebook has told those close to Michael that he has read their messages, but no one has received a response.
“We’re just clutching at straws – giving phone numbers to police of anyone we could think of in the hope that it triggers something,” Peter said.
Sharon held back tears as Peter recalled the family’s fishing trips to Beauty Point when Michael was much younger.
“We used to go fishing on a regular basis – the whole family out on the boat,” Peter said.
We used to do a boys camping trip together every year.

“We used to fish the Tamar River, out to Beauty Point and go from there. We used to go regularly when the boys were younger. Everyone used to enjoy going out.
“We used to do a boys camping trip together every year. I have really good memories of that.”
Melenio, 18, will forever cherish the memory of his older brother surprising him at his 18th birthday in April.
The family agreed that Michael’s loving personality on Melenio’s special day will always be held dear.
“I hadn’t seen him in a while,” Melenio said.
“It was nice.”
Anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts should contact police on 131 444, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
