Traffic is flowing freely again on Princes Highway after firefighters extinguished the fire.
Only a kerbside lane and one north-bound lane remain closed.
Smoke coming from the restaurant was reported shortly before 6am.
Firefighters found fire burning in the roof and possibly in the kitchen.
The restaurant was extensively damaged.

Mike's Grill & Bar restaurant at Sylvania has been engulfed by fire.
Firefighters are battling to contain the fire, in which flames are shooting high into the sky.
Police have closed at least one side of Princes Highway.
