Having trouble getting tickets to the NRL grand final but would love to watch the Sharkies play for glory among like-minded supporters?
Event Cinemas at Miranda have the solution.
They will be live-streaming the 2016 grand final on the big screen in their Vmax Cinema.
This will give Sharks fans a cheaper, safe and friendly environment to watch the game with their families in the ultimate big screen experience.
Gold Class corporate packages are also available for the night.
Sharks fullback Ben Barba, who got to experience the Gold Class luxury when the new cinemas first launched last April, said he loved watching new blockbusters on the big screen.
“Going to the movies is something I’ve always loved doing,’’ Barba said at the time.
And if Barba wasn’t wasn't playing in Sunday's grand final he'd probably love to watch the game in Vmax.
There was a scare early in the week when Barba’s sidelining may have been a remote possibility.
Barba revealed that he was not 100 per cent fit heading into the game against Melbourne at ANZ Stadium on Sunday.
He feared his season was over after he was floored in the first half of last week’s preliminary final against North Queensland, but the club cleared him of major damage and have been monitoring his recovery as the week progresses.
Sharks fans will be hoping their star fullback isn’t hindered when he takes to the ground for his second grand final in five years.
But Barba admits he is still feeling the effects of the severe cork.
‘‘It’s a little bit sore from the game. I had my first hit-out on Tuesday and it’s sort of hard when you don’t run for four days it stiffens up,’’ he said.
‘‘It was good to get the body moving again. I’m not 100 per cent yet, but I’m hoping to be 100 per cent for Sunday.
‘‘Like our preparations, I’ll just build up into it. We have some great people at the club who take care of our bodies and allow us to perform on the field.
‘‘I’ll participate in sessions, but it goes back to the staff here making sure I do all the protocols to make sure it’s all sweet. It’s nothing I’m too worried about considering we have so many days left between now and Sunday.’’
The live stream at Event Cinemas Miranda beings at 6.30pm.
Cost is $10 and includes a box of pop corn.
