A piece of Sharks’ history, described as “more precious than the Dead Sea Scrolls”, has been unearthed in support of the club’s bid for a maiden premiership.

Travis Smith, 18, and his father Glen have the original ET’s Family Hill sign from Shark Park bolted to the front of their Kareela home.
“Dad’s a landscaper and was doing some work at Shark Park when they were replacing the sign about 15 years ago,” Travis said.
“He brought it home and put it in his ‘man cave’ under the house.
“We have resurrected it for the big game.”
Travis said on Facebook the sign was “more precious than the Dead sea Scrolls, more coveted than chips to seagulls, more idolised than a hot dog in a service station window at 3am in the morning”.
“We have all stood on the hill shoulder to shoulder in the shadow of this sign for generations,” he wrote.
“Sharks fans take in the euphoria, inhale the liniment, dare to dream.
“It’s now time for a premiership trophy.”
