The new-look Coles Kareela supermarket was unveiled to shoppers on November 16.
The upgraded Coles has created 14 new local jobs - adding to the 96 existing team members.
The Kareela supermarket has more than a century of combined service, including eight long-serving team members, who have each worked at the store for more than 15 years, who joined the team to cut the ribbon in celebration of the store’s refurbishment.
Customers will enjoy a range of new store features, including an in-store bakery offering a ‘‘naked bread’’ option for customers to pick and wrap their bread.
The refurbished store will also include a continental delicatessen with a wide variety of local and international cheeses, an expanded fresh produce section and a new ‘’scoop and weigh’’ bar for customers to select, weigh and pack their own seeds, nuts and dried fruits from a variety of options.
Coles Kareela store manager, Peter Anderson, who has been a part of Coles for more than a decade at several stores across NSW says the team is excited about its new-look supermarket.
‘‘We are thrilled to launch our bigger and better store to the Kareela community,’’ Mr Anderson said.
‘‘It’s also exciting to see some of our longest-serving team members, who have such strong relationships with our shoppers involved in the opening ceremony.
‘‘We’re committed to our community and want to thank our customers for their patience during the refurbishment.’’
As part of the Coles Helping Hands program, team members at Coles Kareela recently volunteered at Bates Drives Public School to help revamp the school grounds by planting a vegetable and herb garden and hosted a barbeque and fruit stand for Grandparents’ Day.
