As a result of complexities of the amalgamation of the two councils and to changes to requirements by the Office of Local Government, the extra council meetings will have to be held to meet statutory deadlines.
The financial reports for both former councils for the period ended May 12, 2016 will be referred for audit at an extraordinary council meeting on Hurstville Civic Centre on Tuesday, December 13 at 6pm.
The audited financial reports together with the reports of the external auditor will be presented at an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, December 22 at 5pm.
Members of the public will be given an extended period over the Christmas period to make any submissions on financial reports.
The deadline for any public submission will be Friday, January 27, 2017.
